TERRARIUM LOVE
. . . .

Ever since my BFF, Erika introduced me to Score & Solder's most radical terrariums sold at Vancouver's Old Faithful Shop, I have had nothing but plants on my mind. Yes, I officially have a tete de chou. My current obsession is to find the perfect terrarium for my mini apartment. Consider it a moss and fern homage to Lynn Valley. In reality I should just opt for an air plant so I don't kill it with kindness. Even though I'm still on an epic terrarium quest, I adore these four globed ecosystems. Too CUTE!

Spa Day

SPA DAY
. . . .

Baby it's cold outside. This weekend it's all about a spa day in the comfort of my Montreal apartment. There's not a chance I'm venturing out. Instead, I've collected my favorite products to bring a little warmth to the winter. I picked up Aesop skincare while I was in Australia a few years ago and every time I slather on my mandarin face cream it's like I'm suntanning at Bondi. Well almost. A girl can try, right? To bring a little more hot tropic to the mix, I love love love my Korres guava shower gel and jasmine body butter – nothing smells as delicious. Ages ago, when I was living in Vancouver, I discovered these incredible Japanese bath salts that actually smell like a cedar forest. It always reminds me of home. All I need is a rain shower head and I'm suddenly transported to the salty west. Treat yo self!

Party Party!

NYLON KOREA HEARTS MONTREAL
I couldn't be more excited about being featured in NYLON Korea's December issue. Clearly they know what's up. And I'm in good company with the talented Jorge Camarotti, Kandle and Julien Vallée gracing the 6 page story about Montreal's creative community. And the best part is my amazing and handsome dog Mick is even featured. Yes Mick is the sh*t in Korea for obvious cute overload reasons. Now, let's bust out the bibimbap and kimchi and party, party!

Hey Boy. Hey Girl.

I've always been a fan of both Filippa K and pink pants. For spring, this magic combo is together at last. I'd like to meet the man bold enough to wear pink pants and I might ask him to marry me; although, I'm not sure we're playing for the same team. I digress... so Filippa K generally produces a beautiful fashion film to accompany their collection. I'm still waiting for their spring installment, but you can check out what they've done in the past here (awake) and here (mojave desert). Reanna Time hearts.

Harvey Faircloth

What happens when 3 New York ladies with connections to Martha Stewart and Kate Spade grab a sewing machine? Harvey Faircloth is what happens. This is fun and classic clothing I'd like to get my hands on. I'm pretty much in love with their beaded necklaces and punches of brights. Pow! But exactly who is Harvey Faircloth? Rumor has it the line is based on an older gentleman one of the ladies met at a wedding. He may have been to space and there is a chance he scaled Everest, but there is no doubt he inspired a beautifully crafted clothing line. Yeah for muses.

Three for the Road

Just the other day my friend Vicki made an excellent observation. She said, "You know, August is just a month long Sunday" and I have to agree. August brings that old back to school anxiety and I can't shake it. Yet it's been eons since I graduated. For some reason Carly Simon's Anticipation on repeat in my head. Go figure. For all those who are heading back to school, I've got some sweet book bags I think you'll like.

1. COLOUR ME BAD
These are some snazzy popsicle bright satchels from the Cambridge Satchel Company. Maybe a backpack isn't your thing and you'd rather paint your nails to match your handsome leather bag. Then this, darling, is your back to school treat. Guess what? I heart these.

2. SWEDISH BACKPACK TEAM
Perhaps you're the kind of gal who had a JanSport in high school and now you love to own things you can't pronounce. Then may I suggest the Swedish Fjällräven Kanken. They are very Euro cool and simple. You can pick one up at Creature of Comfort.

3. LE SAC A DOS
You have kids and you want them to look so crazy cute it hurts. And since your mom dressed you in head-to-toe velour (much like mine), you feel the need to express your child's inner cool. Then check out the adorable French designer By Virgo.

Loverboy

I'm looking for a one piece bathing suit. I totally love love love the new Marc Jacobs swimwear but I'm torn. Lover is one of my favorite lines and boy do they have some super options for the poolside. What I like is that they are a muted neutral colour palette with lingerie inspired lace textures. Who doesn't remember the whole underwear as outerwear craze à la Madonna? Bringing it back baby! Plus there are loads of options from high waisted bikinis, super sex kitten one pieces to the classic string bikini for those who don't have a love affair with cheese and deep fried treats (like me... ahem). I've said it before and I'll say it again: Gym time!

P.S. Check out MJ's sweet-ass bathing beauty suits here.

Everything is Ok

Times are tough. I've got to roll up my sleeves and get down to business, but that doesn't mean I can't look fashionable at the same time, right? No need to dig out my overalls from 1993 to save a buck. Hell no! Let's not go there. Anyhoo, I recently discovered Oak, one of my favorite boutiques, has launched an affordable online shop aptly named A.Ok. Sweet mamma jamma! With blue slip-ons for men, sexy ripped jeans and zipper skirts for the ladies there is something for everyone on a budget. I guess I can give those overalls to Goodwill, hey? I mean Kris Kross might come back in style – I know some of you might be thinking but they never went out of style. Check out A.Ok instead.

Happy Mondays

According to my BF, nothing is better than a fresh, new pair of colourful socks. Right now my preferred brand is Happy Socks. I can just imagine my favorite fashion bad-ass Chuck Bass sporting a pair of these (obviously coordinated with his equally colourful bow tie). And they are not just for the boys. That's right ladies, you too can have jazzy feet. It's a great way to add a little zip to any outfit. Happy Monday! Happy Socks!

The Birds

I'm loving these bold parrot prints from Surface to Air. They are the result of a recent collaboration between the label and fancy pants photographer Sølve Sundsbø. Hot dog! Or should I say hot parrot? Okay, maybe not. The collection will only be available in 20 stores. One of which is Paristexas in Copenhagen so you'll have to book your flights now if you want some Polly Wanna Cracker action.

Flower Power

A.P.C. has done it again. Just when I thought they couldn't get any cuter they have teamed up Liberty Fabrics to create a bouquet of adorable summer wear. I think I'll need a second closet just for my A.P.C. pieces. Oh dear, it's turning into a wee little addiction.

According to Jean Touitou, the label's founder, the collection was inspired by Haight Ashbury, David Hamilton photos and The Seeds with a healthy dose of good old LSD. Peace. Bro.

PS the collection hits the stores May 15th.

Bag It

Momma's got a brand new bag and a new crush. It's Morelle purses from Amsterdam. They come in delicious sorbet colours like pistachio, coral pink and juicy raspberry. I love that they are handmade and aren't full of do-dads and extra tacky hardware – just simple and clean they way I like it. I'd love to get one, but what colour do you like the best? I could go with a classic grey but you know I always like looking bright and sunny. Decisions. Decisions.

Kitsuné, je t'amie

I'm just loving Kitsuné's "Somebody Somewhere" Spring/Summer 09 clothing line. Sweet Euro-styles for both the ladies and gents. I adore the French flag inspired bow tie matched with classic v-neck. Saucy! Hey boys, go get yourself a custard coloured jacket and blue shoes pronto. Delicious! But you're going to have to hit up their Paris store to get you Kitsuné on.

P.S. Check out the collaboration between Kitsuné + Petit Bateau. The perfect tee. Click here.

Mini Me

Taking inspiration from miniatures and toys, Miss Bibi has created an amusing jewelry collection. They totally remind me of the board game pieces from Clue. I can't help but think, "Yes, it was Mr. Mustard in the library with the candlestick." I think my favorite is the stiletto ring. I can definitely see me sporting one.

Sunglasses at Night

I can't seem to find my sunglasses anywhere. This caused a mini panic attack when the sun was finally out in full force over the weekend. I've come to the conclusion that we need to see more than Ray-Ban Wayfarers this summer. Am I right? Hells yeah I'm right. Everyone has been talking about round lenses for the season, but I for one look like John Lennon in drag wearing this shape. Or some Harry Potter want-to-be (or that crazy dude at the local coffee shop, you know who I mean). Anyways, it's just not a good idea. At least not for me. So what will I do besides squint all summer long? I recently found some nice options for the ladies. I'm loving the Annie Hall inspired Diane de Carlo frames and Jeepers Peepers makes cute tortoise shell sunglasses with amber lenses. This season Karen Walker doesn't disappoint. Check out her Trixie and Duper Strength frames or try a pair of Ksubi Bayliss sunglasses at Oak. You won't feel the urge to impersonate Tom Cruise from Risky Business. Yes, you can keep your pants on, but please take off your shades.

20 Minute Workout

I need to go to the gym. Since I will obviously have to buy a new Marc by Marc Jacobs swimsuit. If I don't want it to hang in my closet all summer, then I'd better hit the treadmill FAST. Okay so who can recommend a personal trainer?

Out of the collection, these are my favorite 4. It's probably because I love their giant bows and ruffles (so sweet, so simple). I think I can finally retire the Speedo and go poolside in style. And we all know I usually opt for something that resembles a burlap sack when it comes to swimwear! Thank you Mr. Jacobs. Finally.
