Irana Douer

The first time I saw Irana Douer's work was on the cover The Walrus – back in the day when they were inspiring. It was a delicate illustration of magenta hair waves burying a woman's face. Very simple. Very bold. Seeing it makes me want to break out and sing the theme song to Hair, the musical. I nearly forgot about Irana until I was recently reunited with her work on Flickr. With a little digging I also discovered she is the editor of a very cool online art magazine called Ruby. Check it out. There's loads of inspiration in one neat little post. Ta da!

Very cool. I like the last one with the purple braids.
