PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE DAY / CHARLOTTE BOEYDEN
. . . .
As Montreal thaws you can feel a tiny glimmer of spring under melting piles of dirty snow. Spring isn't so pretty here. It's dull, brown and grey. Yet somehow because the winter is so long, you can't help but find some sort of beauty in it all. Maybe it's just called relief.
There is something about Charlotte Boeyden's quality of light and choice of settings that reminds me of the spring. Her work is a touch melancholic reminiscent of the last month of winter. She captures moments rather than creates them. It's all entirely real.

i also cannot wait for spring, although portland spring isn't dull and drab. i've always said that my favorite season is the in between, when everything is changing and you can almost smell something new.
i absolutely love the first and fourth pictures (the 4th almost looks like a painting)
Oh how i miss the west coast. Spring in the Pacific Northwest is "opposite world" fill with flowers and cherry blossoms. Send my love to Portland...
PS totally love the first and fourth image too.
Oh, these are incredible.
Why thank you Anabela! Charlotte's work is lovely. Makes me want to pick up my camera and shoot more cats :) Love it!
