Every time I'm in Texas I get a little creative jolt. Whether it's Austin or Marfa – these are magical places. And it's no surprise that Alexandra Valenti calls the lone star state her home. How beautiful are her painted photographs? Her photos have a really entrancing quality to them. I suppose this is why you see bits of her work posted and reposted all over Tumblr.

I'm in the middle of the Netherlands next to a windmill, some cut tulips and the A12 highway. I saw this photo by the Dutch artist Helmut Smits (who you can read more about here) and thought I would post it. More euro treats to come. You just wait!

I just got back from the heart of Texas (clap clap). And as always, the lone star state didn't disappoint. Austin kicks honky tonk butt. It's an amazing city full of live music, BBQ and cowboy charm. Here's a few photos from the trip. YEHAW.

It's true. I have a sweet tooth. I guess that why I see ribbons of delicious taffy candy in Santtu Mustonen's  3D illustrations. Either that or this must be what it's like to live in a lava lamp. I've got to say, there is nothing more freaky then going for a walk in the forest and stumbling upon abandoned cabins from summer's past. To top it off there was a cougar watch in the area. Real cougars. Could this all be the makings of a horror film? I was pretty much convinced Jason from Friday the 13th was going to pop out at any moment.  This place is called Moorecroft. It sounds like a town in Middle Earth but it looks more like a deserted set from Meatballs. I had my camera with me and couldn't resist taking a few photos. Crazy, right? So spooky!
