I love it when you're on Etsy and you find something a-a-amazing like these hand painted deer antlers by Cassandra Smith. After spending a few weeks in the boonies, I suppose all this wilderness business is rubbing off on me. Soon I'll be building a log cabin in my living room and wearing pelts. But before I spiral into the dark forest, I take a few of these beautiful painted antlers thank you.

Swan Song

When I was a child my most loved fairy tales were written by Hans Christian Andersen – The Ugly Duckling being one of my favourites. I have a certain affinity to the graceful swan so this afternoon, with my camera in tote, I took some photos of these handsome devils swimming around Lost Lagoon. Hypnotized

I might be hypnotized. It's official. Not in the Notorious B.I.G. way but in the, "Oh great I am clucking like a chicken way". Check out dvdp's striking graphic animations. You'll have to go on their site to see these in full effect. They are so Twilight Zone cool. Promise.

It's Personal

It is the time of year when you may be thankful for a bunch of things – like mom's homemade ginger snap cookies or friends who also share your love for good Champagne. Better put it in a note and let them know. But if you're like me, you may want something personal and cute other than some hideous floral note cards from the dollar store. Unless that's your thing. I came across rifle paper co a while ago while searching for the perfect Christmas card. And man do they have some awesome personalized note cards. You can commission them to hand draw your stationery with a little portrait of yourself, your pooch or a regal monogram. Isn't that just grand?

Island Life

A flight across the country and a boat ride later and I am finally in what appears to be a west coast version of Stella McCartney's Bambi Campaign. Deers and bunnies are everywhere and not a speck of snow, wind chill or parka to be had. I can't stop humming Grace Jones – it's Island Life here. It's hard to imagine that just 2 days ago I was in Siberia. And now I am in an enchanted green forest spending Christmas by the ocean exploring the woods and taking a few simple photos. Here are a few I'd like to share. Happy holidays everyone. xo

Unknown Pleasures

These days it's all about online shopping simply because I've never been busier and can't seem to move away from my computer. "Hello, Geek Squad please". So, I found this lovely print studio on Etsy selling cute geometric designs on calendars, cards, gift tags and totes. I smell holiday gifts people. Their simple line drawings remind me of Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures. I think that's why I like it so much. Less is more. She's lost control.

Mail Man!

Hey Mr Postman! Dream Sequins' Postcard Project is complete. And ReannaTime made the cut with my dull but strangely cool vintage postcards from the exciting landmarks of Mirabel Airport and Longueuil suburbia (famous for the mullet)*. Whoop! Funny thing is I found them mixed with contemporary cards in an odd Portuguese soccer/religious paraphernalia store on St. Laurent boulevard. Yes, these stores really do exist in Montreal and I am afraid to say the cards have probably been sitting there since 1970. What a find! The project was fun and I got to discover new blogs along the way like a girl and her blog and a daisy chain dream. Yeah for pen pals.

* For those who know Montreal know how retarded it is to get a card from either Mirabel or Longueuil. I mean, really? One is a defunct airport and the other is a suburban wasteland. I'd like to high five the person who somehow got these cards printed and sold. Holy smokes.

It's Ok

I feel like buying a hundred of these "It's Ok" wood cuts from Multi Polar Projects. Then I would place them all over my office, bedroom and even inside my bike basket to remind me life is good. These little guys were originally created by artists Sighn and Chris Kerr for a cool Argentine magazine called Atypica. Fun times. But the best part is they come with their own little bed to sleep on since clearly everything is better in bed. Right? Breakfast in bed, reading in bed... My favorite being the heart shaped honeymoon mattress – of course.

Postal Service

It's been a long time since I've written a letter. I should spend a few hours this weekend and write a note or two to my friends living in London, Vancouver, New York... you know who you are! Recently I was invited to try a little postcard experiment amongst fellow bloggers. Well anyone can do it. Check out the lovely Dream Sequins where "Postcards From My Hometown" is taking place. It's a trip back to the pen pal days. Send a card, receive a card.

I'm going to have to hit up the flea market and see about finding some sweet vintage cards like these ones. Aren't they just hilarious? You have to have a look at Popcards for some seriously out of control vintage finds. See if you can spot the crazy Eastern Euro spa postcards. Wowza!

It's Such a Perfect Day

5 WAYS TO REACH PERFECTION

Only 2 days until the weekend officially starts. When can I start singing Loverboy? Everybody's working for the weekend! It doesn't take much to have a perfect day. Give me any sunny Saturday and I am sure to turn it into a fabulous adventure. Sure I might end up just sitting by the beach sleeping or drinking cocktails with my boys, but if I could narrow it down to 5 things to make my day, this is what I'd choose.

1. Read the newest issue of Apartamento magazine and drool over the photography and design. Get inspired to create beautiful things.

2. Dance around to Phoenix's Lisztomania or Whitest Boy Alive's 1517 before meeting friends. Repeat until the wee hours of the morning.

3. Surround myself with all things lemon from tarts, cupcakes to candies. Let's buy a cake from Montreal's Gascogne shall we?

4. Drink at least one glass of bubbly – make it Veuve Clicquot since the orange label somehow makes me very happy. Funny that.

5. Shop for the perfect pair of shoes. Better be black and with a heel. How about something from Jane Aldridge?

This time they've managed to make a calendar radical. Their new interactive website features time lapse aerials of Japanese cities with a hip shaking soundtrack by Fantastic Plastic Machine, Tokyo Forecast and The Shibuya. When you click on a cityscape, the image magically turns into a mosaic of UNIQLO products colour coded to match the landscape. Crazy, hey? Girl you know it's true. 

Tasty Twine

I shouldn't eat macaroons everyday, but they are just so darn pretty and sweet. I think these little Parisian pastries call to me and say, "Eat me. I'm so delightful. I'd be better off in your tummy than on this plate". So what's a girl to do?  How about bringing home of box of handmade crochet macaroons by Brooklyn textile designer Sian Keegan? Besides, I really do want that Lover swimsuit. This could be my best idea yet: The Crochet Diet™. It's not so delicious, but just as satisfying!

Parklife

Summertime and the livin' is easy. This Sunday was spent with my lovely friends, the extra delicious Alphonso mango, dogs, lilacs and bottles of white wine – not in that order and heavy on the wine. I'm convinced every weekend should involve outdoor chillin'. Twist my rubber arm. I vote for an all weekend picnic every weekend. 

As soon as we arrived at Laurier park we were introduced to the world of Pétanque, the French equivalent of lawn bowling meets curling without the ice and silly brooms. But what made Sunday in the park so special was puppy pug's first social outing with our friends. Like a true debutant, he won everyone's hearts. How could he not with such a handsome little face? 

Here are a few photos from the grand event. Days like this make me fall in love with Montreal. What a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday. Thank you to everyone for making it so awesome. xo

Woofers

Today's post is in honor of Mr. M. Jagger, the new addition to team Reanna. Yes the rumors are true, we are proud owners of a new puppy. It's Pug life bitches. To kick off a little dog lovin' have a peek at these insane in the membrane canine speakers by designer Sander Mulder. Described as, "functional kitsch; the wrong becomes the new right" Sander's Woofers are perfect for those with allergies and a good music collection. Okay now would be the time to start singing Lil' Wayne's Man I Miss My Dawgs.

Folded

So it's the long weekend and it's raining outside. Brilliant. To keep from getting cabin fever why not whip up an origami unicorn? Seems simple enough. Okay so you don't have the patience for it. I get it. But if you want to be entertained for more than 5 minutes check out Phillip West's flickr page full of imaginative folded paper creations. He's made everything from Yoda to the abdominal snowman origami. Say what? 

But If you need more instruction then have a peek at This is Origami. I was originally attracted to this project because of the fun package design. Turns out they are empty bags that can be folded into animals (created to support the WWF). One of the bags can be magically turned into a monkey with banana patterned paper. Crazy cute. 

Here's an oldie, but a goodie – a pretty photo of a thousand cranes created for a Red Bull art installation. I just love this photo and the idea of making a zillion hanging cranes. If only I had the time... instead I'll just admire them all until the sun comes out. It should be anytime now.
