Back in the day Magic Eye painting were all the rage. Remember? You would stare at them forever until some wack attack 3D image of a pharaoh or cat would jump out. Awesome! I was obessed which is maybe why I like Morgan Blair's pattern on pattern candy yum yum paintings. They somehow either remind me of the Magic Eye era or the paintings themselves. Nontheless, Morgan's methodical and repetitive paintings are pretty darn cool. Inspired by those delicious malted Easter eggs, the colour palette is good enough to eat. Basically, what's not to love?

Nico Krijno's body of work feels like a collection of random images found on any Tumblr. His work is direct and intimate. It's at times absurd and minimal. Often shooting his muse and girlfriend, the South African based photographer mostly works with analogue cameras to create some kind of wonderful.  Yes, that is a photo of hotdogs and carrots on a bed of florals. No big deal. 

"There’s a thread of love and a sense of humour running through it, though it may sometimes seem cynical and dark. The photos I most enjoy are raw as well as magical, containing a certain dirty realism."

Go Go

TRAVEL TIME

I haven't stood still in months, which is a good thing. I don't do boring. Every time I leave Montreal, I gain a new perspective and get a little more inspired. It's all the creative juices you get from not sitting in front of a computer 24/7. These days I seem to be taking a million photos on my iPhone then my actual camera. It's great because you don't have to be perfect checking exposures and it's always on me. 

From magazine heaven in The Netherlands to the best brunch in Brooklyn then off to a confetti party in Texas while flying over Chicago and back again. Next stop is London. And it's calling... may each step you take be sweet.

I was checking out Base Magazine in between watching Game of Thrones and came across Mariell Amélie's poetic self portrait series from 2006 to 2012. I instantly connected with her work ... in particular the planking shot on the armchair is pretty amazing. Mariell grew up on a small island above the polar circle in Andøya Norway. She now lives and works in London.

When I was a kid I used to go to a crazy Japanese summer camp with kids from Tokyo who would send me box loads of gummy candies and Pocky. Nothing is more awesome than getting treats from abroad. Check out these radical gifts from Japan my dear friend from Caesar Pony picked up for me. They're so cooool. Thank you Emily! 

01 Loving my Torafu paper airvase in fluo pink. It's so beautiful when you pop it into a magical weblike creation. 02 Kamoi paper masking tape is my favorite. If I could, I would cover everything in this. Seriously. 03 This vintage Olive magazine from 1985 is editorial gold. Don't be surprised if suddenly my next project is inspired by this piece of 80's heaven. Jpop fun times!
